Informative Graphics Announces Brava! Annotation, Redaction
Support For Microsoft XPS Format
IGC Features XPS Demonstration at Microsoft® Partner
Pavilion, AIIM 2006
SCOTTSDALE, Arizona — May 16, 2006 Informative
Graphics Corporation (IGC), a leading developer of commercial
software products for content visualization, secure publishing
and collaboration, announced today its line of Brava!® content
visualization and Net-It® content publishing products will
directly support Microsoft® XML Paper Specification (XPS). IGC
will be demonstrating Brava’s features for XPS at the Microsoft
Partner Pavilion during the 2006 AIIM Expo in Philadelphia.
IGC’s Brava! Enterprise and Brava! Desktop products provide
view, annotation, redaction and secure publishing capabilities
for a number of file formats like TIFF, PDF, CSF, Microsoft
Office formats and native CAD drawing formats such as AutoCAD®
DWG and DWF. Informative Graphics plans to provide annotation
and redaction of XPS files in the next release of Brava.
Brava enables users to view, compare, annotate, measure and
redact (block out) XPS document information. XPS files can then
be published to Adobe PDF, TIFF, Autodesk DWF or IGC’s secure
CSF. Brava also opens over 150 file formats that can be saved to
XPS and then viewed directly by Internet Explorer 7 in Windows
Vista or by the Microsoft XML Paper Specification Viewer on most
other Microsoft Windows platforms.
“Brava goes beyond simple translation; redaction and smart
annotation give users the option of effectively using XPS in ECM
processes, such as workflow and document review, especially when
disparate file content is present,” said Andy Simonds, Group
Program Manager of the Digital Documents Platform and Solutions
Group at Microsoft. “Informative Graphics’ Brava and its support
for XPS is a great example of how the industry can build on the
Windows platform to provide solutions in the ECM space.”
Informative Graphics plans to optionally offer server-side
and batch conversion of native files, bulk redaction and
annotation burn-in to XPS as part of its Net-It Enterprise and
Net-It Central content publishing solutions.
“Informative Graphics sees XPS as an emerging format for
sharing document and drawing content. With Brava integrations to
Microsoft Office SharePoint® Server 2007, Microsoft Office
Infopath 2007, Microsoft Office Groove 2007 and Windows Rights
Management Services, as well as our annotation integrations with
enterprise content management offerings like EMC Documentum®,
Open Text®, Interwoven and ColumbiaSoft, we feel Brava is well
positioned to augment XPS’s value,” said Gary Heath, President
and CEO of IGC. “Our products enable users to access the wide
spectrum of document, imaging and design content that exists in
an enterprise environment. We make sharing and collaborating on
all content unified, easy, consistent and secure for all skill
levels.”
